Changing my Fantasy table to Warhammer 40000

Image
Hi everybody, After finish my Fantasy / Age of Sigmar table, I'm planning to build a Warhammer 40000 table. I've been seeing the Games-Workshop table for Warhammer 40000 ( https://www.games-workshop.com/en-NO/Realm-of-Battle-Sector-Imperialis-2016 ), because of I don't like the new play mats (for example, https://www.games-workshop.com/en-NO/40K-gaming-mat-bundle ). But for now, I've decided to adapt my current Fantasy table to the Dark Future. You can see it in this post . For do this, I don't want simply add a few ruins buildings to this table. Considering the table is representing natural environment (like hills, forests and plains), I'm looking for a more coherent set. So, I was looking for Citadel Scenery (I know, I'm an absolut Citadel Scenery zealot...) for get natural and futuristic sets, and I found this: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Tau-Empire-Tidewall-Rampart You can get this kit in other on-line shops. Only you

Warhammer 40000 Organization table for competitive WH40K battles

Image
Hi, in a previous post, I included the Warhammer 40000 lists from ETC 2017 . The current organization tables structure from the rules book allows you to do this insane lists. Because of that, I'm been thinking about a set of house rules for get a way of play as fair as possible. After thinking a lot, I have two options: Limit the organization tables slots for build an army. Customize a set of organization tables. Relative to the first one, my conclusion is limit the type and the number of tables to use. So, my current option is to choose only one table to build my army, choosing between the first three tables from the rules book (patrol, battalion and brigade detachement), 0-1 super heavy auxiliary detachment and 0-1 fortification network. Relative to the second one, you can use this structure: Required: 1 HQ and 2 Troops Optional: 0-1 HQ, 0-4 Troops, 0-3 Elites, 0-3 Fast Attack, 0-3 Heavy Support, 0-2 Flyers, 0-1 Fortification and 0-1 Lord of War. Warhammer 40000 ETC Lists 2017

Image
Hi, There already are available the lists of ETC 2017. If you're interested about that, you can check them here: http://teamspain40k.mforos.com/2132083-listas-enemigas/ Personally, I think it's an insane way to playing the game. Basically, the point in this meta, is spam all of best units in your army: Every countries plays with Deamons (with Horrors / Deamon Princes spam), Ynnari, Imperial Guard (with Infantry / Ratlings / Heavy Weapons spam) and Space Marines. Talking about Space Marines, we have fliers spams (most of all, Stormraven), Razorbarcks and Heavy Weapons with Guilliman. After this spams, the most popular are Mechanicus Dunecrawler / Kastelans spam and Tau Commands / Drones spam. The Necrons and Tyranids armies are residuals. As you can see, the current organization tables allows us play everything you want. Nevertheless, I guess we must wait to the tournament results for get conclusions about the future meta. Starting with Warhammer 40K 8th Edition

Image
If I only played to Age of Sigmar, I would get bore. Because of that, I also play to Warhammer 40000. Like Warhammer Fantasy (sorry, Age of Sigmar...), I've been collecting Warhammer 40K miniatures a lot of years ago, and I have most of all factions of the game. And, like the most of players, I have my main army, and this army is Necrons. I have to say I've had some problems to play competitively with my "terminators". In previous editions, we tend to spam units with gauss weapons, due to the gauss rules againsts vehicles were awesome. Now, gauss weapons are nice but, although in this edition everything can damage everything, our army have some difficults to destroy heavy units. Because of that and other things (some units have been nerf), in my opinion, the way to use this army has changed very much. Now, our main advantage is the resistance. But I'm not refering to the protocols. I'm refering to quantic shields and our invulnerable saves. In my op

Bretonnians and Flesh Eaters

Image
Although, as I've said in previous posts, I think that the changes in Age of Sigmar have been nice for the game, I got sad when I saw the Bretonnians out of the Warhammer universe. We can't know it, it's possible that GW back to introduce the Bretonnians in the Age of Sigmar, but I don't think it happen... Nevertheless, a few weeks ago, I've heard a history about the flesh eaters about our origins. I think that it's in the flesh eaters book, and it's about their origins. In this history, a noble knight is fighting against a horrible monster, until this knight kill him. But, in fact, this noble knight was an horrible crypt ghoul and the horrible monster is a free people man (I don't remember that exactly...). I love this history and it make me feel very excited with the idea of build a nighthaunt army from my old bretonnian miniatures. I'm thinking about use my grial and errant knights to make hexwraiths, and use a mix of pegassus knig

My first IronJawz army list

Image
As I'm painting all of my IronJawz Orruks army, I've been thinking about in my first army list. As I'm an old school player, I don't like the idea of mix different armies (like high elves and dark elves, for instance). So, I've decided build a pure IronJawz army, without mix with other destruction units (but I'm sure that a few ogors will be useful...). I've been seeing some list in Internet and I have some ideas to apply. I've always been a competitive player, it's the better way to play (for me...) and I want to build a competitive 2000 points army list to play with my mates. So, my first list: Orruk Mega Boss in Maw-Krusha [520 points]. Battle Brew. Orruk Mega Boss [140 points]. Bellowing Tyrant and Battle Brew. Orruk Weirdnob Shaman [120 points]. Orruk Warchanter [80 points]. 5 Orruk Brutes [180 points]. Ironfist Brute Big Boss (+2 H). 5 Orruk Brutes [180 points]. 10 Orruk Ardboys [180 points]. 10 Orruk Ardboys [180 poin

My first project for Age of Sigmar

Image
I've always been a Warhammer fantasy player. I've played to this game / universe for twenty years, but I think that it was necessary a change in this universe, advance in the history of warhammer and the old world. Although I wouldn't have advanced so much in the history, I think that the new air in the universe is cool. Now, you can make new campaigns, new histories and more. I guess it's something senseless for the new player, but for the old-school players, is refreshing (in my opinion...). Because of that, I'm changing some of my armies, adapting them to AoS. I've always love the orcs. For me, they are the most beautiful army in the warhammer universe. Moreover, when I saw the Orruks, I decided collect them immediately. So, I want share with you my project to change my first ardboyz, from the classic fantasy black orcs. There are two types of black orcs, some of them are the white metal black orks (from many years ago): Because I
